Community Guidelines

Effective date: 1 July 2026 · Last updated: 29 July 2026

English reference translation. The Chinese version is the governing version; in case of any discrepancy in interpretation, the Chinese text prevails (see clause 1 of the Terms of Service).

Lighthouse Club is a place where life, learning and hobbies are talked about together. These Guidelines are not a cold set of rules but a shared understanding through which we all look after this community — they explain "what we hope this place will be". The binding provisions are in the Terms of Service; a serious breach of these Guidelines is dealt with under the Terms of Service.

1. Share honestly

  • Share real experience and real thoughts. Don't exaggerate, don't invent, and don't feel you have to construct a persona — being genuine is what is most welcome here.
  • Before passing information on, pause and ask: is the source reliable? If you aren't sure about something, say "I'm not sure".
  • If your content was created with the help of AI, feel free to note that in passing.
  • Without the relevant professional qualification, please do not give others medical, legal, investment or similar professional advice. Experience can be shared, but make it clear that "this is only my own experience".

2. Talk kindly

  • Put yourself in the other person's place and read them charitably. When views differ, first try to reconstruct the other person's situation, then form a judgement; motives are hard to prove, so when you cannot tell, choose the kinder reading.
  • Discuss the matter, don't attack the person. No mockery, no belittling, no dredging up old scores.
  • Respect privacy. Don't publish another person's personal information or chat records; if someone clearly says they don't want to continue a topic or a private conversation, let it end there.
  • Be careful with accusations. Don't circulate unverified speculation as fact; if you feel you or someone else has been treated unfairly, go to the management team rather than starting a public denunciation.
  • When someone helps you, say thank you. People who feel taken seriously are the ones who keep sharing seriously.

3. A sunny atmosphere

This is the one we care about especially: a good community atmosphere is about more than "not quarrelling and not swearing".

  • Don't steer towards or spread negative information and negative emotion; don't whip up a mood, and don't amplify anxiety or panic.
  • You are welcome to talk about feeling low and about difficulties — the community is willing to catch you. But please don't let emotion turn into an attack on others, or into a lasting cloud of low pressure over a channel.
  • Share more of what makes you better: a book, an attempt, a small step forward. That alone makes this place brighter.

4. Topics we stay away from

  • Politics, religion, race and other highly contentious topics — not because they don't matter, but because this is not the place to debate them.
  • Adult content, graphic violence, unlawful content: absolutely prohibited.
  • Please don't do business in the community: no advertisements, no promoting products or services, no recruiting people, no steering others into private transactions. This is a place for conversation, not a marketplace.
  • The hard line on finance and investment topics (also written into the Terms of Service): sharing personal views and conversation are welcome, but paid stock recommendations, discretionary management of another person's funds, and signal-style formats such as calling entries and exits, leading trades or inducing others to follow trades are prohibited. What anyone says is their personal view only and does not constitute investment advice; investment decisions must be made independently and at your own risk.

5. Looking after this place together

  • If you see content that makes you uncomfortable or that breaches these Guidelines, please use the reporting channel or contact the management team rather than confronting it publicly yourself — that keeps the harm from spreading.
  • Depending on the circumstances, the management team may issue a warning, delete content, or suspend or terminate membership (under the Terms of Service).
  • These Guidelines will grow along with the community. If you have a suggestion, we'd love to hear it through the contact page — we reply within 3 business days of receipt.
