This Policy explains how FortunaVirtu Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong and the operator of Lighthouse Club (the "Operator"), handles members' personal data in accordance with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486, the "PDPO"), including the six data protection principles set out in Schedule 1 to the PDPO. Our principle is simple: we collect only the information necessary to provide the membership service, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: Discord username and user ID (used to identify you as a member and to grant access to member channels).
- Contact information: email address (used for subscription-related notices and customer support).
- Subscription information: order records such as subscription status, payment time and amount.
- Card details: collected and processed directly by the payment service provider (such as Stripe). The Operator neither accesses nor stores your card number or other payment credentials.
- Form and technical data: what you enter in the application or contact form; standard access and security logs processed by our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare).
This website does not use marketing cookies and does not embed third-party analytics; our security provider (Cloudflare, including the Turnstile human-verification widget) may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the website.
2. Purposes of collection and use (PDPO principles 1 and 2)
We collect and use personal data only for the following purposes, and will not use it for a new purpose without your consent:
- activating, administering and renewing membership;
- sending subscription-related notices (such as expiry reminders and invitations to confirm a renewal — this Community does not charge automatically, and renewal requires your own confirmation);
- verifying that the email address you enter in a form is one you can actually receive mail at (we do not publicly display a support email address, and instead handle contact through a form plus email verification);
- responding to enquiries and providing customer support;
- maintaining order in the Community and dealing with breaches;
- meeting obligations required by law and regulation (such as retention of transaction records).
We will not use your personal data in direct marketing without your consent (Part 6A of the PDPO).
3. Disclosure, processors and cross-border transfer (PDPO principle 3)
We do not sell personal information to any third party. We share it only within the following scope, for those parties to process on our behalf:
- Payment service providers (such as Stripe): to process subscription payments;
- Discord: the platform on which the Community runs;
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and human verification (Turnstile);
- Resend: delivery of emails arising from form submissions;
- where required by law or regulation, or necessary to protect the lawful rights and interests of members and of the Operator.
The providers listed above may process data on servers outside Hong Kong (a transfer of data under the PDPO). We require those providers to offer a level of protection comparable to PDPO standards; each platform has its own terms of service and privacy policy, and its handling of data is governed by that policy.
4. Retention period (PDPO principle 2)
- After you leave, the Operator retains membership administration information for a reasonable period necessary for operations and by law (for example, transaction records kept for the statutory number of years), and deletes or anonymises it thereafter.
- Please note: messages you post on Discord are stored on the Discord platform. Leaving the Community does not automatically delete those messages, and the Operator cannot delete them all on your behalf. You may delete your own messages before you leave; the handling of that data is governed by the Discord Privacy Policy.
- After you leave, your Discord account's member role and channel permissions in this Community are removed.
5. Data security (PDPO principle 4)
Membership administration information is stored in a database managed by the Operator, accessible only to the personnel required for operations and only to the extent necessary. We take reasonably practicable technical and organisational measures (including HTTPS transport encryption and access control) to prevent unauthorised access to, loss of, or misuse of information.
6. Right of access and correction (PDPO principle 6)
Under the PDPO, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your own data held by the Operator (to the extent within the Operator's control). Please make your request through the contact details below; we reply within 3 business days of receipt and act on the request once we have confirmed your identity. To the extent permitted by the PDPO, we may charge a reasonable fee for handling a data access request.
7. Minors
Minors may join the Community only with the consent of a legal guardian. A guardian may exercise the rights under this Policy on behalf of a minor member.
8. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be updated as the service changes. Material changes will be notified through the Community or to your registered email address, and the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised.
9. Contact
