Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 July 2026 · Last updated: 29 July 2026
English reference translation. The Chinese version is the governing version of these Terms; in case of any discrepancy in interpretation, the Chinese text prevails (see clause 1).
Welcome to Lighthouse Club. These Terms set out the agreement governing your use of this community's services. By joining or using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.
1. Service provider and scope of these Terms
Lighthouse Club (the "Community") is operated by FortunaVirtu Limited, a company registered in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the "Operator"). The Operator provides operational and technical services for an online community and subscription business, and is the sole contracting party and payee for membership fees. Company information is available at fortuna-virtu.com; merchant information is set out in clause 16 of this page.
The service is delivered through Discord and the other channels indicated on the join page. When using Discord and other third-party platforms, you must also comply with their respective terms of service. These Terms are issued in Chinese as the master version; where a version in another language exists, the Chinese version prevails for the purposes of interpretation.
2. Nature of the service: we provide a venue, not advice
The Community is a community for conversation across a wide range of interests. What the Operator provides is an environment for conversation and community services — a "venue" in which members exchange views on life, learning, hobbies and other topics. The Operator does not itself produce or supply content as the consideration for the fee paid.
All content within the Community — whether from the Operator or from other members — is provided for general information and conversation only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind (including but not limited to legal, medical, financial, investment or tax advice). Statements made by any person in the Community are that person's own views and do not represent the Operator. Content touching on finance or investment is for discussion and learning only, does not constitute investment advice, and investment decisions must be made independently and at your own risk. Any past record is for reference only and is not indicative of future performance.
Specifically, the Operator does not provide the following professional consulting, brokerage or agency services that require a statutory qualification, licence or registration: investment advice; the sale of, or brokerage in, financial products; discretionary management of another person's funds; brokerage in the sale, purchase or leasing of real property; agency services for visa, immigration or other administrative procedures; advice relating to medical practice, diagnosis or treatment; the planning, arrangement or sale of travel; and any other professional service that requires a relevant qualification, licence or registration under applicable law. The Community provides only a "venue" for conversation and a "starting point for topics"; for the matters listed above, please consult a suitably qualified professional.
3. Membership and accounts
- You become a member once you have applied in the manner designated by the Operator and completed payment.
- You must be at least 13 years old to join the Community (consistent with the age requirement of Discord and other mainstream community platforms). A person aged 13 or over but under 18 may join only with the consent of a legal guardian, and the guardian must confirm these Terms.
- Membership is for your personal use only and may not be lent, shared, transferred or resold.
- If your registration details (such as your email address) change, please update them or inform the Operator promptly.
4. Subscription, fees and payment
- The membership fee is the price and billing cycle shown on the join page at the time of your purchase (currently approximately $60 per month, charged as $180 per 3-month period, denominated in US dollars (USD)). Prices are exclusive of tax; applicable taxes vary by country/region and the amount shown on the payment page applies.
- The membership fee is the consideration for access to the Community and for operational services, and is the same for all members.
- Payment methods are those shown on the join page. Card details are handled directly by the payment service provider; the Operator neither accesses nor stores them.
- The Community does not use auto-renewal. The membership fee is charged as a one-off payment. Nothing is charged automatically when your period ends, and no recurring payment authorisation of any kind is created. Shortly before your membership period expires, the Operator will remind you by your registered email address or within the Community; whether to renew is your own decision, and membership continues only after you confirm and complete a further payment. You do not need to perform any "cancellation" for your membership to simply lapse at the end of the period.
- Merchant information and statutory disclosures are set out in clause 16, "Merchant information", on this page.
5. Termination and refunds
- Stop at any time: you may terminate at any time and may continue to use the service for the remainder of the current period. As the Community does not use auto-renewal (see clause 4), nothing further will be charged after expiry; you may equally do nothing and let your membership end naturally at the end of the period.
- 7-day guarantee on first activation: within 7 days of your first activation of membership, you may contact us through the contact page of this website or an official channel within the Community for a full refund of the membership fee and termination of the service. After 7 days, because the service is a digital service delivered upon activation, refunds are in principle not provided. This guarantee applies once per member and does not apply to renewals or to re-activation.
- Refund of a renewal: a renewal payment corresponds to the next billing period. If you request cancellation before that period begins, the renewal payment can be refunded; once the period has begun, no refund is provided.
- No refund on termination for breach: if the Operator terminates your membership because you have breached these Terms (including the prohibited conduct in clause 8) or the Community Guidelines, fees already paid are not refundable, and the Operator will retain the relevant records for reference.
- Where the Operator discontinues the service: if the Operator discontinues the service in its entirety for reasons not attributable to you, a refund will be made pro rata for the remaining period.
- How refunds are made: the refund amount means the membership fee you have paid. Refunds are processed by the method and in the currency designated by the Operator, which may differ from your method of payment; the Operator may require you to receive the refund by a method it designates. Processing a refund requires you to provide accurate receiving account details in accordance with the Operator's instructions (used solely for that refund); any delay caused by incomplete, incorrect or late information is your responsibility.
- Refund handling fees: for payments completed through Stripe, refunds are processed in accordance with Stripe's own rules (normally returned to the original payment method), and any handling fee is borne by the Operator, so that the amount you receive is the full membership fee due to be refunded. Where a refund is not made through Stripe and must be processed by bank transfer or similar means, the resulting remittance fees may be deducted from the refund amount or borne by you; however, for a full refund under the "7-day guarantee on first activation", or for a refund arising from reasons attributable to the Operator, remittance fees are borne by the Operator in all cases.
6. Member content and ownership of rights
- Rights in the text, images and other content posted by a member in the Community ("Member Content") belong to that member.
- Members grant the Operator the right, to the extent necessary to operate the service, to display, store, reproduce and manage Member Content (including removal in accordance with the rules). This grant does not transfer ownership.
- Member Content represents the views of the person who posted it and does not represent the position of the Operator. Any dispute with a third party arising from Member Content is to be resolved by the posting member, at that member's own responsibility.
- Please post only content in which you hold the rights or for which you have obtained permission, and do not infringe another person's copyright, image rights, privacy or other rights.
7. Licence and restrictions
The Operator grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the Community and its members-only content during your membership period. You may not:
- transcribe, resell, circulate by screenshot, or otherwise redistribute members-only content to non-members;
- repackage Community content as your own product or use it for a competing service;
- use crawlers, bots or other automated tools to harvest content or to interfere with the operation of the Community.
This licence terminates when your membership terminates.
8. Standards of conduct and prohibited conduct
The understandings that shape the atmosphere of the Community are set out in the Community Guidelines; please observe them after joining. The following conduct is strictly prohibited, and breaches are dealt with under clause 9:
- posting unlawful content, or content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, privacy, reputation and the like);
- harassment, threats, abuse, personal attacks or defamation, or impersonating another person, the Operator or the management team;
- malicious abuse, provocation or incitement of conflict within the Community, or persistently disrupting conversation or preventing others from taking part normally (ordinary differences of view and reasoned discussion are not included);
- posting pornographic, violent or gory content;
- disclosing another person's personal information or chat records without consent;
- sending spam, committing fraud, or directing members to transact outside the platform in order to circumvent the service;
- providing professional advice (including medical, legal, investment or tax advice) without holding the relevant professional qualification, or presenting unverified claims as statements of fact;
- Finance-related: paid stock recommendations and discretionary management of another person's funds are prohibited, as is soliciting others to trade in a signal / following format — calling entries and exits, leading trades, or inducing others to follow trades — whether or not a fee is charged. Manipulating prices and spreading false or unfounded information are likewise prohibited. Sharing personal views and reasoned discussion are not included.
- posting advertisements, promoting products, or soliciting commercial transactions without the Operator's permission;
- Poaching: recruiting, promoting to, or directing other members towards a competing community or service.
- Incitement / disparagement: deliberately discouraging others from taking part in the Community, or damaging the reputation of the Community or the Operator, through false information or malicious disparagement. Legitimate criticism of the service and honest negative feedback are not included.
- Coordinated disruption: organising or taking part in coordinated action intended to damage or disrupt the Community.
9. Handling of breaches
In response to conduct breaching these Terms or the Community Guidelines, the Operator may, depending on the circumstances, issue a warning, delete content, restrict functions, suspend use, or terminate membership. Where the circumstances are serious, or where the conduct continues after a warning, the Operator may terminate the membership without prior notice; refunds are dealt with under clause 5.
10. Changes to, interruption of, and termination of the service
The Operator may, on prior notice, change, interrupt or terminate all or part of the service. Where the service becomes temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance, force majeure, or a failure of a third-party platform (Discord, a payment service provider and the like), the Operator will use reasonable efforts to restore it but is not liable for the interruption itself.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The Operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of Member Content, nor that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- The Operator is not responsible for the conduct of any member or the content they post, nor for interactions or transactions between members.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or special loss; the Operator's aggregate liability is limited to the total subscription fees you have actually paid to the Operator.
- Liability that may not be limited under consumer protection or other mandatory law is not limited by this clause.
12. Personal data
The handling of members' personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
The Operator may change these Terms where necessary. Material changes will be notified in advance through the Community or to your registered email address; the amended Terms take effect from the effective time published on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect is deemed acceptance of the change.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes relating to these Terms or to the service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
15. Contact
For enquiries and complaints, please use the contact form on this website (you may also contact the management team through an official channel within the Community). We reply to your verified email address within 3 business days of receipt.
To guard against spam and automated harvesting, this website does not publicly display an email address; we will provide an email address and telephone number without delay upon your request. The contact form uses email verification: after you submit it you will receive a verification email, and your message reaches us only once you click the link in it — which is also how we obtain an email address we can reply to.
